| Autumn in the Meiji |
About:
The first thing that comes to mind when I see this is the color. It’s very neutral because I made it for autumn, hence the name. I loved it so much that I kept it around until February 2004. That’s a whole six months!
Way back in August 2003, I was obsessed with Rurouni Kenshin. Couldn’t get enough of it! I came across this picture and fell in love with it. It’s got my two favorite characters from the show, Kenshin and Sano. The cute little kitty only make the picture better :)
Why is it sideways? Well, for one thing, the length was greater than the width and I wanted the entire image to show at the top. Secondly, it just looks cool and I had never done it before! The image wasn’t long enough to stretch as far as I wanted. At the right near Kenshin’s foot, the picture just stopped. So I took a section of grass, and played around with the opacity. Then I applied layer after layer of overlapping sections of the grass. The ending product: you can’t even tell that it’s not part of the original picture ^-^
One other effect I added was horizontal lines. The quality of the original image wasn’t great so I used these lines to make it look intentionally duller. Then, to bring out the autumnal hues of the picture, I used a neutral color scheme when coloring the background and scrollbars.
An interesting fact: the length of time a blog layout is up is proportionate to how much I like it. That must mean this one is one of my favorites ^^
